🔥 Free Central Heating Grants – Upgrade to Modern, Efficient Comfort
Homeowners approved for central heating grants can now enjoy the benefits of a high-efficiency condensing boiler, offering up to 96% efficiency and helping save up to £300 every year on energy bills.
Compared to traditional systems, condensing gas boilers cut environmental impact by up to 50%, making them both economical and eco-friendly.
For homes without a gas connection, the grant covers air source heat pumps — paired with free solar panel installation. These pumps are up to 400% more efficient than older systems and can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 80%.
Whether you’re living in an older home with electric heaters or an inefficient coal fire, this grant can pay for a full central heating installation – no boiler replacement needed, and you pay nothing out of pocket. We can arrange a free home survey within days, and have Gas-Safe registered engineers install your new heating system quickly. It’s a simple process to turn your cold house into a warm, low-cost home.

💡Key Benefits of Free Central Heating Installation
-
Zero Upfront Cost: The ECO4 grant covers 100% of installation costs. You don’t pay for the boiler, pumps, radiators, or labour
-
Huge Bill Savings: Replacing electric heaters or an inefficient system with a new gas boiler or heat pump significantly lowers energy bills
-
Better Home Comfort: Enjoy consistent heat on demand in every room, unlike old heaters that leave cold spots.
-
Cut Carbon Emissions: Modern boilers and heat pumps are much greener. Installing them slashes your home’s carbon footprint. Adding solar panels (through separate schemes) can boost savings even more, as solar energy can power your heating and hot water systems.
-
Increased Property Value: An efficient heating system and higher EPC rating make your home more attractive to buyers or tenants.
FAQ – First-Time Central Heating Grants
Who qualifies for a free central heating grant?
Typically, homeowners or private tenants can qualify if their house has an EPC rating in band D–G and someone in the household receives eligible benefits (like Universal Credit, Child Tax Credit, or pension benefits) The property must currently have no working boiler and radiators. Social housing tenants in E–G rated homes may also qualify for first-time heating. Landlords can apply on behalf of qualifying tenants.
Is this grant only for first-time central heating systems?
Yes. By definition, the grant is for installing a wet central heating system in a property that has never had one before. If your home previously had central heating (even if it was removed), you generally won’t qualify for this particular grant. You may, however, be eligible for other schemes (like boiler upgrade grants) to replace an old system.
What heating systems are covered by the grant?
If your home had a mains gas supply before 31 March 2022, you can get a new gas boiler and radiators installed at no cost. If you didn’t have mains gas (e.g. off-grid or oil only), the grant can instead fund an air source heat pump and any necessary upgrades. In both cases, the grant also pays for thermostatic controls, TRVs and any required insulation work.
How do I apply for the free central heating grant?
It’s easy: start by providing some basic details online or by phone. We’ll check your eligibility in minutes. If you qualify, we arrange a free survey, apply to our network of suppliers for the ECO4 funding, and then schedule your installation. There’s no paperwork for you – we do it all. Just let us know you want to proceed, and we’ll handle the rest.
How long does the installation take once approved?
Once your grant is approved, the work is usually completed within a few days. The exact time depends on your home’s size and complexity. Our installers will work quickly and neatly to get your new central heating up and running. Most homes are fully fitted with a new system (boiler, radiators, pipes, controls) in 2–5 days.
Are there any costs at all?
No – if you qualify, the grant covers 100% of the labour, equipment, and materials. You pay nothing for the boiler, heat pump, radiators or installation.
Can I combine this with other grants?
Not while ECO4 is active. ECO4 grants cannot be stacked with other government funding. However, you can separately apply for things like solar PV grants or Great British Insulation Scheme for your home, which complement your new heating.
